Design & Engineering
Children investigate movement, structure, materials, and mechanisms. They make ideas tangible, test what happens, and improve their work. The month moves towards building something for someone else.
A small cohort, a steady rhythm, and four connected labs. Children learn by encountering the world, asking questions, making things, and trying again.
Four weeks in each lab. New questions throughout.
Children investigate movement, structure, materials, and mechanisms. They make ideas tangible, test what happens, and improve their work. The month moves towards building something for someone else.
Children explore what could be different and imagine possible worlds. Ideas take shape as models and prototypes, making room to ask what a better future could look like—and who it might help.
Children explore the foundations of community: shared life, belonging, and the choices people make together. They consider how their actions and creations can help a community flourish.
Children develop thinking, language, and storytelling. They turn experiences and ideas into stories, practise communicating clearly, and prepare to share what they have made and learned.

Each learning day holds five hours for guided exploration, sustained making, practice, and shared life. Teaching is in English, with up to five adults supporting the cohort.
Questions open the work. Making gives children something to test. Reflection helps them see what changed—and why.
Look closely, touch materials, ask questions, and make an initial guess.
Try an idea, notice what happens, and use the result to improve it.
Share the thinking. Return regularly to the speedcube, abacus, and spatial reasoning.
A daily, one-hour block embedded in the programme for community, responsibility, and learning to live well together.
Across the cohort, children create individual pieces of work and contribute to a collective build. The programme culminates in a Builders Assembly—a moment to share their creations, explain their thinking, and reflect on the journey.
Explore the curriculum outlineThe cohort is for children aged 5–9. Mixed-age learning brings children together within one deliberately selected group, with a maximum of 12 children.
The programme runs for four months: four labs of four weeks each. Children attend three days a week, with five learning hours each day. Exact dates and weekly meeting days will be shared separately.
There is no homework. Home practice guides support continued exploration with each child’s own speedcube, abacus, and spatial kit.
The speedcube, abacus, and spatial reasoning recur across all 16 weeks. The daily Village block continues throughout, alongside individual work and the collective build.
